M80 Ring Road Upgrade (North East Link Program)
MelbourneOur involvement began with the successful tender submission and has transitioned into a full-scale delivery role. The work covers the development of complex staging for one of Melbourne’s busiest corridors, including:
- Tender Staging & Costing: Development of the initial traffic staging drawings, VISSIM, Domino & SIDRA modelling assessments, and detailed cost estimations to support the successful project bid.
- Team & Systems Establishment: Mobilisation of the project’s traffic management team from the ground up, including the creation of site-specific safety protocols, reporting systems, and risk-management processes.
- Traffic Staging: Design and implementation of multi-stage traffic shifts to facilitate major bridge and road construction, pavement works, and the installation of new overhead structures.
- Major Traffic Events: Planning and execution of complex freeway and arterial road closures and detours at major interchanges (such as the M80 Ring Road/Greensborough Bypass).
- Ongoing Construction Support: Provision of daily technical advice, TGS (Traffic Guidance Scheme) reviews, and on-site troubleshooting to ensure construction activities remain compliant.
- Stakeholder & Interface Coordination: Regular liaison with project partners and road authorities to coordinate night works and weekend occupations, ensuring clear communication with the traveling public.
West Gate Tunnel Project
MelbourneThis role involved setting up the project's traffic engineering team and defining the core operating procedures from the outset. The work focused on high-pressure staging along the Footscray Road and CityLink corridors, including:
- Complex Traffic Switches: Planning and delivery of multi-stage traffic shifts to allow for the construction of elevated roadways and bridge structures.
- Gantry Crane Staging: Development of specific lane closures and 24/7 staging to facilitate the safe movement of the gantry crane while lifting concrete segments over live traffic.
- Port Access Continuity: Design of temporary traffic staging to maintain 24/7 access for heavy vehicles and over-dimensional loads heading to the Port of Melbourne.
- Network-Wide Detours: Coordination of large-scale detours during full carriageway closures in conjunction with the Department of Transport and CityLink.
Test Safe Australia
SydneyThis project involved the development of a site-wide Traffic Management Plan (TMP) and a long-term operational improvement strategy for the 100-hectare Londonderry facility. The work focused on balancing high-risk testing operations with daily site logistics, including:
- Heavy Vehicle Swept Path Analysis: Mapping and testing of specific ingress and egress routes for oversized delivery vehicles and heavy rigid trucks to ensure safe navigation through constrained testing zones.
- Loading and Unloading Facilities: Optimized layout and management for warehouse and testing zones.
- Pedestrian Connectivity & Safety: Ensuring clear, risk-free pathways across the 100-hectare site.
- Operational Risk Assessment: Broad safety evaluation of site logistics.
